Awesome 2D Multiplayer Racing Game

How do I create a 2d multiplayer racing game with lag and packet loss compensation and de-sync-avoidance?
To find this out I looked at the Photon Unity3D Networking Framework and created a project using Photon for the Unity Engine, to research this very topic. The final product is a game which can be played by a maximum of 8 players, where the goal is to race from start to finish and be the first to reach the end with a car that is synchronized on each client, using code that keeps in mind lag, packet loss, de-sync and jitter.
